"Absolutely loved my takeaway from Southwest BBQ today was very first visit and I will definitely be back again. The food was next-level delicious. I ordered the crispy pork belly with chips and it was perfectly cooked, full of flavour and seriously moreish. The coleslaw was to die for, and the pickles just tied everything together beautifully. Even as takeaway, everything travelled really well and tasted incredible. The owner who served me was genuinely friendly and welcoming, which always makes a difference. Such a lovely vibe, even just popping in to collect food. Absolutely delicious food and great service. Would 100% order again and highly recommend."

"Great local joint, food delicious. Only complaint would be to see actual dishes and cutlery being used for dine in orders rather than plastic containers for condiments. Was there toothpicks? I didn't check but would be great to pick out the leftovers heh. Thanks for the meal!"

"We had an incredible dining experience at Southwest Barbecue in Appin, a halal-friendly barbecue spot that takes extra care to ensure no cross-contamination, making it perfect for those observing halal dietary requirements. We started with the beef brisket with Alabama sauce, which was beautifully smoked, tender, and packed with rich, smoky flavors complemented perfectly by the tangy, slightly spicy Alabama sauce. The mac ‘n’ cheese was a creamy, cheesy delight, with the sauce perfectly coating the soft pasta, making it a comforting side to the hearty mains. The chicken wings were perfectly cooked—crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and seasoned with just the right amount of spice to make them addictive. The beef short ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender, bursting with a deep, smoky flavor that’s hard to forget. The brisket lasagne was a unique twist on a classic, layered with succulent brisket, rich cheese, and a perfectly balanced sauce, creating a hearty and satisfying dish. The chicken schnitzel burger was generously portioned, with a perfectly crispy schnitzel, fresh toppings, and a flavorful sauce that tied everything together. Every dish was fresh, cooked to perfection, and full of authentic Southern-style barbecue flavor, and the friendly, attentive staff made the overall experience even more enjoyable. This place is a must-visit for anyone craving genuine, flavorful barbecue in Appin."

"Dropped in to try their Smoky Beef Brisket Pie after seeing recommendations and I wasn't disappointed. Their pie was huge and full of flavour and the best pie that I have ever had to date. The staff were fantastic and I highly recommend this place."

"Visited today with my partner for lunch and had such a great experience! I explained to the staff that I’ve had stomach surgery and can’t eat solid foods, and they were incredibly understanding and accommodating. They even went out of their way to shred the chicken extra fine for me, which made all the difference. The food was absolutely delicious the chicken was tender and full of flavour, and the mac and cheese was next level. But the real standout? The pickles! I don’t know what kind they use, but holy hell, they’re the best I’ve ever had. I seriously need the recipe for those! Such a great spot with amazing food and even better service. I’ll definitely be back!"

"So yum ... is a bit of a hike from the south coast but so worth another visit ... had the beef brisket which was soo good and the chips are some of the best I have eaten. Service was quick and friendly and helpful and food was freshly prepared and came within 10 mins ... Owner was there again and he is a personable friendly guy who runs a quality establishment ... they open early for breakfast too ... except for Mondays when it appears they are closed ... obviously for a well earned rest! Thanks again for another great feed!"
